Flooring Quick Tips
How to Keep Your New Floor Sparkling
The Everyday Clean
- If you have a vehicle that drips oil, you may want to place a pan under it to protect your flooring from potential degradation.
- We recommend Simple Green household clean for cleaning up spills that can stain
- Regularly sweep or blow out dirt and debris – just like you were doing anyway.
- Wipe up any spills as soon as possible.

The Deep Clean
- Sweep out the garage to remove all dirt and debris.
- Use a hose with a spray nozzle to loosen any remaining dirt, salt or other buildup.
- With the floor still damp, mist the entire floor with Simple Green.
- Scrub the entire floor with a medium to hard-bristled push broom.
- Rinse the entire area and use a squeegee to remove excess water. (Hard water can leave a film on the floor.)
- Wrap the squeegee with a towel and go over the floor one more time to remove all remaining water.
Things to Note
- Avoid using harsh chemicals like solvents, ammonia or bleach on your new floor. And if you wash your car a lot in your garage or driveway, residual soap can sometimes leave a film. Hard water can do this too. But don’t panic! It can be buffed out using a heavy-duty deck brush on the dry floor.
- In rare instances, polymers from hot tires that come into contact with the floor can leach into the coating, resulting in dirty, slightly brown stains. Of all the flooring coatings on the market, Polyaspartic floor coatings provide the best resistance, however, we cannot guarantee these marks will never happen (Plasticizer migration is not covered under warranty). If you experience this type of staining, act quickly to prevent permanent damage. Use a Magic Eraser with clean water or a D-Lemonine-based citric acid degreaser mixed with lukewarm water and a soft nylon brush, and rinse thoroughly. Avoid using Simple Green as this can actually set the stains. Also, rubbing the stain with a new, dry tennis ball can potentially help soak up the plasticizers from the floor. Help to prevent this by allowing high-performance tires to cool in the driveway for an hour if the temperature is above 85°F before parking in the garage. Note: If your vehicle’s tires are causing stains, use a floor mat or something similar to prevent future staining.
