How Much Does a Garage Floor Coating Cost?
Three factors influence the costs of a garage floor coating: the size of the garage; the finish, color, and design of the coating; and the condition of the concrete floor. For example, coating a one-car garage floor in good condition will cost less than coating a three-car garage floor and it will cost less than a garage floor that has cracks, moisture problems, and surface damage because those issues require more extensive and possibly more expensive prep work.
Comparing professional polyaspartic coating and a DIY kits is simple. You will probably find that DIY epoxy kits are less expensive initially. However, because epoxy coating fails by peeling and pigmentation change (to yellow) along with the coating lifting when your car is on the tires, you will probably be paying to have it redone before you want to. What about DIY garage floor paint?
We don’t recommend garage floor coating paints for several reasons. Poor surface prep is one of the most common causes of DIY garage floor paint failure. Initial floor preparation is crucial to success and can’t be completed properly without the right tools—tools most people don’t have on hand. Moisture and damaged concrete can also cause DIY garage floor epoxy and other paint-on solutions to fail.
