Industrial-Grade Garage Floor Coatings Built to Last

Why Homeowners Upgrade Their Garage Floors

Most concrete garage floors fail over time. They stain from tires and oil, they crack, look dingy and are absorb moisture from the air. A professionally installed coating system transforms your garage into a clean, durable, and easy-to-maintain space. At Hello Garage, we don’t use one-size-fits-all kits. We install engineered systems based on your floor condition and use case. If you haven’t heard of polyaspartic floor coatings before, no worries. This tried-and-true technology has been around for decades, used mostly in commercial applications for high-traffic areas like factories, gyms and warehouses.

When it comes to choosing garage flooring, only polyaspartic floor-coating technology offers granite-like looks and durability and can be installed in just a day.

How Much Does a Garage Floor Coating Cost?

Three factors influence the costs of a garage floor coating: the size and condition of your garage; the blend of coating selected; and the finish and color chosen for your new concrete floor coating.

The size of your garage is always something to keep in mind when planning a garage transformation. Coating a one-car garage floor in good condition will cost less than coating a three-car garage floor in good condition. If your garage floor has cracks, moisture damage or surface damage, more extensive (and possibly more expensive) prep work will be required.

Comparing professional polyaspartic coatings and a DIY kit is simple. You will probably find that DIY epoxy kits are less expensive initially. However, because epoxy coating fails by peeling, yellowing, or hot car tires lifting the coating, you will probably be paying to have it redone before you want to.

Polyaspartic floor coatings from Hello Garage come with a professional-grade warranty, so you never have to worry about unexpected costs if your new coating doesn’t perform as expected after installation.

Your finish choice will also influence your overall cost. Classic flake is a good, and less expensive, base choice. However, the other options, such as Granite and Sandstone, and with custom blended flakes are more premium and will typically cost more. Your Garage Expert will guide you on pricing, so there are no surprises along the way.

What To Expect: Your Garage Floor Coating From Start to Finish

Once you’ve chosen to begin this journey, here is how it starts and finishes from the first call to the last visit.

A Design Consultant will come out to your home to evaluate your concrete and how your garage is structured. They will ask questions to understand what you want to do in your space and show you all of our options. They will offer you an estimate that day based on the garage and concrete… no commitment is required and it’s totally free!

Once our teams arrives, we will start by diamond grinding the concrete to ensure our polyaspartic will bond permanently to the concrete. We will repair any cracks or imperfections and will remove any coatings or imperfections.

Once the surface is prepped, we can install the first coat of a grey or beige polyaspartic coating, then we add decorative flake, and finish with a 100% polyaspartic top coat. Polyaspartic coating cures a lot faster than epoxy and as a result, we’re able to finish many projects within a single day.

You’ll be able to walk on your floor in about 24 hours and drive on it in 72! Leaving less downtime.

Don’t settle for a one-size-fits-all approach for your garage. From first estimate to final coat, Hello Garage means custom. Have a question about the process? Check out our FAQ or our industry-leading warranty.

What About Epoxy Garage Floors?

The Hello Garage team did a lot of research to determine which garage floor coating material was best, based on a few criteria, including longevity, durability and appearance. Even though epoxy floors are popular, homeowners report many problems over time. Some of the most common epoxy floor issues include:

What about DIY garage floor paint?

We don’t recommend garage floor coating paints for several reasons. Poor surface prep is one of the most common causes of DIY garage floor paint failure. Initial floor preparation is crucial to success and can’t be completed properly without the right tools—tools most people don’t have on hand. Moisture and damaged concrete can also cause DIY garage floor epoxy and other paint-on solutions to fail.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is unlikely you’d be happy with the experience (or the results) if you did. Approximately 80% of a garage floor coating’s success comes down to surface preparation. We have the specialized tools (walk-behind grinders and industrial vacuums) and the expertise to get it done right the first time. We ensure your garage floor is free of damage, cracks and abrasions that cause other methods to fail. We also test the moisture of your floor with a professional tool to ensure the material will adhere properly.
In a word, yes. That’s why it’s been the choice of warehouses, factories and other industrial applications for 40 years. Plus, only polyaspartic garage floor-coating technology offers granite-like looks and durability and cures much faster than epoxy garage flooring.

Some garage floors are difficult to clean — especially if they’re bare concrete that soaks up stains like a sponge. Polyaspartic garage floors are easy to clean: Just a quick spray of a hose or swipe with a squeegee gets rid of most spills.
